Where I come from being woke is something all should strive for.

It means to be awake to the truth... but I guess thats something Trumppers believe is bad.

That's the tried and true with them. Take something noble and aspirational and make it a bad word in their bubble.
It's why an abortion of a non-viable fetus is "murder," why repayment of social security in our golden years is
a nasty "entitlement," anything and everything the government does that doesn't involve blowing up brown people
in foreign countries is "socialism," taxation is theft, Black Lives Matter is a "terrorist organization,"
and executive order is tyranny unless Trump does it, judicial officers are legislative usurpers.

Satire mocking the left isn’t funny to the left. Satire mocking the right isn’t funny to the right.
There was a recent thread about how Bill Maher has been mocking the left lately. Of course lefties said he’s lost it. One (Nifty I think) gave an example of some guy who he considers way funnier yet it’s some obscure guy few have heard of.
Bill Maher is no different now than he’s ever been. I liked him before and I like him now, maybe because I hate the far left and the far right.
I like The Onion at times and I like The Babylon Bee at times, sometimes they’re both stupid (usually, actually).

Green: You guys wrote an article in January 2020 that was shared roughly 3 million times, claiming that Democrats called for the American flag to be flown at half-staff when the Iranian general Qasem Soleimani was killed in an American strike.

Example of Maher mocking the left: When dims were throwing out the idea of reparations to blacks for slavery. Maher did a “new rules” calling for a honky tax. And why not? How incredibly stupid is it to even pose the idea of reparations for slavery in the 21st century?
