Simply claiming so doesn't make it so. That's why your appeal fails. It also fails because it overreaches and is not something embraced by the Right itself. Liberal and Progressive are terms the Left has applied to themselves. They became pejoratives in good part for that reason. It's why calling Leftists 'Socialists' or 'Communists' fails to stick. Those aren't things the Left generally applies to themselves. The same with trying to call the Right "regressive fascists." It doesn't work for the same reasons.

You'd have better luck with denigrating the TEA Party moniker...
