Default Progressives finally have power in Washington

The difference is that progressives finally have the political bulk to stand up to moderate and conservative Democrats’ brinkmanship. Poll after poll shows Americans support President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda — hence a broader shyness from Sinema and Manchin to explain what specific parts of the reconciliation package they want cut. And, as demonstrated on Capitol Hill in the past few days, the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) has the numbers to derail bills it doesn’t like — or in this case, force moderates to stick to the original “two-track” agreement that the infrastructure bill and the reconciliation package pass together.

Power means having the ability to get something done, becoming obstinate, “my way or the highway” approach means nothing if it doesn’t deliver anything in the end

Right now they are playing right into Mitch’s playbook and burying themselves with next November a year away

"The new normal was also reflected in the makeup of the Sunday political talk shows, as progressives made up the bulk of the guests. CBS’s “Face the Nation” welcomed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), “Fox News Sunday” hosted Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) appeared on ABC’s “This Week” and NBC’s “Meet the Press,” and Congressional Progressive Caucus chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) showed up on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

We have all been told how messy bill negotiations can be. The Dems have differing opinions. The rights vote lockstep for whatever leadership wants. They are good little soldiers. These bills are huge and important. They are being done almost in public. They will get done.

Manchin seems like a jerk. I don't think he is useful. They will negotiate with him then he'll fade into oblivion.

Show me how I am wrong, all their supposed power you think progressives have to date has produced nothing, zero, zilch, and in the process Jeopardized Biden’s agenda and the Democrats chances of controlling Congress next year

Easy to talk one game, delivering is what measures power

Whatever you think Manchin is, and I am not crazy about him, they, the progressives, need him to get anything passed, without him, all their bloviating is just spitting in the wind

Manchin is headed to oblivion. Like all troublemakers, they have no allies.

Agree. The 'Progressives' are in the House. Manchin/Sinema own the Left side of the Senate aisle.

They're essentially going to hand Congress back to Republicans if they don't stop with the nonsense.

Sure, and as always the Left fucks it away by thinking that everyone actually wants their shitty ideas imposed on society. What they never get is that's not true and then they get creamed in the next election. Carter tried it. Clinton tried it. Obama tied it. Now it's Biden's turn to get bent over a chair in 2022...
