Default Oh yeah! Let's put these things in cars! Electric cars, yay!

"giant Tesla battery fire in Australia "

"A three-day blaze that completely incinerated two giant Tesla batteries at a vast energy storage site in Australia was probably sparked by a coolant leak, safety regulators said Tuesday."

    Oh yeah! Totally safe!

Another thing about electric cars: We'll need more than double the power plants and fuel to run them, too. How do I know that? It's common sense.

Bipartisan infrastructure bill requires middle and working class Americans to pay for the EV charging station electrical grid even though most of us can't afford an electric car.

I have seen a vehicle fire exactly once.

Stolen car, guy crashed into a utility pole and it caught on fire right there. I think he died in it. Next day there was just a burnt mess until they cleaned it up.

We need more power plants but why are taxpayers being forced to pay for them to be built then pay again for the use?

ALL BATTERIES CREATE HEAT WHEN DEPLETED...DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES ESPECIALLY....AS VOLTAGE GOES DOWN, AMPERAGE GOES UP = HOW ELECTRICAL FIRES START.

TESLA HAS MAJOR SAFETY DESIGN FLAWS....THERE NEEDS TO BE A LOW-VOLTAGE TRIGGERED CUT OFF SWITCH...OR THESE FIRES WILL CONTINUE.

    LEARN SOME SHIT...DUMBASS.

The newest lithium batteries are liquid cooled to allow faster charging and discharging. Not advertised is the fact that the coolant is water based. Water reacts with lithium to produce hydrogen gas (extremely flammable) and lithium-hydroxide (extremely toxic). These things are bombs, just waiting for a trigger.

Electric cars are about the same price as ICEs. They are far simpler with many fewer moving parts. Buy one and you will save money. The crying about gas prices has not meant much to me since 2015. I bought a Volt.

An EV is almost always a second car. Your Volt is a hybrid so you can get away with one car. You will have to sell your Volt soon or pay to replace the batteries. Most of us can't afford a new car or have the luxury of owning 2 cars, so when looking for a car it will be a used ICE.

The US has neglected infrastructure for 50 years, yet now we are being forced to pay for charging stations and the electric grid we will never use. Charging stations and the grid should be a luxury tax like alcohol and cigarettes; if you don't drink or smoke you are exempt from the tax.
