sep 28 2021 PORTLAND, OR- In response to years of escalating crime, Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) is fitting firefighters for ballistic gear and writing a policy for when crews would be required to wear it.

According to reports, PF&R confirmed the city will be ordering 200 bulletproof vests in the near future. Alan Ferschweiler, president of the Portland Firefighters Association, said that concern over criminal attacks among union members has increased in recent years. He added:

“First responders, as they go in, we can become targets. Even if you look at the totality of the city, it’s definitely become a less safe place to work for their firefighters. There’s not way to mince any words.”

I going to guess you have never had to wear one have you. A level 3 vest which s what I had to wear for years is heavy and bulky it restricts movement , while your little scenery is cute its highly unlikely . the reason they are doing this is because of the liberals in Portland are Animals .

Firefighter's PPE is between 45 and 75 lbs while the level 3 vest is around 5-6 lbs.
