Default Senate Republicans block bill to avert government shutdown

    GOP blocks government funding bill

The Senate failed to pass the spending bill today, setting the government on a path toward shutdown this week, and financial calamity if the lawmakers continue to face an impasse on whether to increase a limit on federal debt.

With only days left until the Thursday deadline to agree on funding the government, Republicans refused to raise the debt limit and support the $3.5 trillion bill, which carries key parts of President Biden’s agenda.

Default Republicans Block Government Funding, Refusing to Lift Debt Limit

WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans on Monday blocked a spending bill needed to avert a government shutdown this week and a federal debt default next month, moving the nation closer to the brink of fiscal crisis as they refused to allow Democrats to lift the limit on federal borrowing.

The debt limit covers previous bills and today's operating expenses. it is to cover what Trump spent. the Biden bill has not been passed and is not part of what the funding would cover.

NYT on debt ceiling. https://www.wsj.com/articles/debt-ce...ne-11627913756 When rightys talk about not raising, they simply show they do not know what they are talking about. Moscow Mitch is just trying to fuck things up.

Economists have been talking about a debt default test run for 6 months. The crooks who looted the treasury want to see how the world reacts to the US refusing to pay its debt. There's nothing they can do.

Treasonous and terrorist Senate repukes at waging war on the national and global economies should be arrested on the spot as there is a abundance of legal justifications to haul them all in for Justice to be served on them. Its time for that taxpayer pilfering party of the GOP to cease and desist at collecting taxpayer money to wage war on the taxpayer, etc.
