See, this is where you fail. Keep them both satisfied and offer incentives for good work. That's what makes everybody happy.

My old family farm was bought by a black sharecropper that worked it for years and he bought up some neighboring property, too.
His offspring own that land to this day.
He's doing quite well.
Meanwhile, I gotta go maintain the land my family donated and designated for a graveyard because no one has been doing it lately.
