Default Taxing the rich is super popular. Democrats should talk more about it.

In his remarks on the Build Back Better plan on Sept. 16, Biden actually began with an argument on tax inequality. “Over the past 40 years, the wealthy have gotten wealthier, and too many corporations have lost their sense of responsibility to their workers, their communities and the country.” He then zeroed in on the tax slackers: “How is it possible that 55 of the largest corporations in this country paid zero dollars in federal income taxes? They made over $40 billion in the year 2020, and they’ve paid zero,” he said.

“Think about that. Zero dollars in federal taxes on $40 billion in profits. How is it possible that the wealthiest billionaires in the country can entirely escape paying income tax on what they’ve made?”

On Thursday, the White House hammered home the message in a written analysis: “We estimate that the 400 wealthiest families paid an average Federal individual income tax rate of 8.2 percent on $1.8 trillion of income over the period 2010–2018, the years from the last decade for which the necessary data are available.”

Maybe the Democrat leadership, being rich themselves, should make sure their own taxes are fully paid before pointing out the mote in God's eye...

"Democratic." If you don't know the name of the party, hard to take you seriously.

Default Why corporate social responsibility is BS

In recent years, “corporate social responsibility” has been viewed by some as the answer to the multiple failings of capitalism. Chief executives have responded to all sorts of problems – worsening climate change, widening inequality, soaring healthcare costs and so on – by promising their corporations will lead the way to solutions because they’re committed to being “socially responsible”.

Ninety-eight per cent of this is rubbish. CEOs won’t do anything that hurts their bottom lines. They’re in the business of making as much money as possible, not solving social problems.

So show us what they paid. Then explain what that has to with the super-rich not paying. If they are super rich, they are raising their taxes too. You are evading the subject,

This is mostly a charade.....the wealthy will take the wealth they hold and move it out of America. The so-called global min tax does not get in the way much because they will simply move it to someplace that allows them to cook the books.

Americans standard of living is about to collapse, and it will not be coming back.

    Buckle Up Folks.
I choose my own words like the Americans of olden times........before this dystopia arrived.

    The administration’s analysis concludes:

Preferential capital gains rates and stepped-up basis — a provision of tax law that allows wealthy taxpayers to wipe out unrealized capital gains for income tax purposes when they pass assets to their heirs — contribute to this low tax rate. The 2022 President’s Budget would increase capital gains rates and virtually end stepped-up basis for the highest-income Americans, thereby ensuring their investment gains are subject to income tax.

So, you're a Democratic? If you can't manage to use simple correct English noun agreement how'd you ever graduate the sixth grade? I don't mind calling you a Democratic if the party is the Democratic party. That is noun agreement.
