I do know that I am from an immigrant family so I tend to be more welcoming of immigrants than some. Except for those who trace their ancestry back to native Americans, I guess we all are the issue of immigrants. I note that most blacks trace their ancestry back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Mine only goes back to the early 20th.

One of the definitions of "idolize" is to admire greatly.
I admire President Trump greatly. Not every aspect of his life, just his public service. He left a wonderful lifestyle to help Americans and lost much of his wealth in doing so. He faced a hostile media who attacked him and his family daily, hourly.
He loves America and Americans and says it often.
Conservatives prefer small government, low taxes, a strong national defense, border security, and most of all, to be left alone by government.
Liberals prefer massive government, high taxes, weak national defense, open borders and sanctuary cities, and government control of every aspect of our lives.
The other definition, revere, or love greatly or excessively does not apply to presidents, just family and friends.
As to immigration, the left loves to conflate “illegal immigration” (punishable by jail time) and ‘legal immigration”...one is illegal, the other is legal and desirable (except at the point where our cities, our schools and our hospitals are grossly overcrowded...we are at that point now so it’s time to slow “legal” immigration). Of course the agenda for open borders and sanctuary cities is votes and power.
