I pay down on student loans, but as little as possable because the interest rate is 3.75.

We have some cash saved for this exact situation, about $75,000, so we will be okay.

I drive an 8 year old car, and my wife drives an older minivan with 75,000 miles on it. We are not extravagant, I dont have a Rolex or drive a Porscha. We dont have a pool, or a country club membership.
You no longer need a nanny. Your wife will be there.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Wow usc. You did the right thing. That's not just a couple extra days at the spa here and there, that's criminal behavior, sanctified oddly enough, by marriage.

So usc. Since all your shit is in the open on this one, what did she say when you tried to talk to her about it? defensive? Angry? entitled? trying to distract you from the topic with blow jobs? (<--probably would have worked)

Good point, this is a perfect time for people to take some time and be with their kids.

Employers will perfectly understand a employment time gap in the coming years.

You can say that you felt it was in the best interest of your country to not immediately reenter the work force due to the fact that you were financially sound with out the income and wanted the job to go to someone who needed the job to survive.

I was going to get a job in a year or so just because I thought it was stupid to sit and not bring in dough since my son is grown, I'm feeling like I may not because of others need for the job.

    We shall see.

Sorry about your wife, jarod. But it is better it was her and not you. Since it's her, the bond of your family is strengthened, as you are magnified in here eyes as your provider. Had it been you, the bond would be weakened, she would be scared, and looking for better.

As much as the feminists like to deny it, work plays an entirely different role in a man's life, not because he wants, but because everyone wants it to be so. Deep down. Inside.

some of all of the above. None of it was rational though.

How would the BJ have worked?
She spent all my money so how could I pay her for them?

I hear she has tied up with some fool at the church. Sorry for him.

I hope the economie turns around soon. I am finally feeling its affects. WE are going to have to do with $100,000 less until she finds a new job.
We do with 100k amongst five people Jarod.

It's not so bad. We even got a fancy TV this christmas. Haven't gotten a new computer since 2000 though. (I'm serious)

Naah I don't hate church. I just do not believe in a supreme being or afterlife.
Some good people in that church. And some with their heads up their butts.

You shouldn't lie to him like that, Desh.

He'll wind up a Philosophy or Literature major.

We discussed that we will move to a less expensive home if she does not get a new job shortly.
