Default Ode to Vasily Aleksandrovich Arkhipov

His refusal to use nuclear weapons probably saved everyone's life.

Vasily Aleksandrovich Arkhipov was a Soviet Navy officer credited with preventing a Soviet nuclear strike (and, potentially, all-out nuclear war) during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Such an attack likely would have caused a major global thermonuclear response.

Vasily actually saved the lives of American civilians and soldiers.

Robert E Lee made it a point to kill American soldiers.
