Calling for it counts. Trump tells his staff something like "Do what it takes to overturn the election and keep me in office" and they do it. That's enough.

It was clearly a riot, launched from the passion of "We The People" upset about the corruption of our election system, law enforcement and Courts.

An actual insurrection would have taken over the Congress and killed elected officials.

The mob was unarmed, (and the police were intentionally underprepared). There has never been an unarmed insurrection is history.

You might consider learning a little history before expounding on it. Your other assertion is also false. That the attack failed in its mission even to get to the Congress does not mean it wasn't a violent uprising against
the government. It was exactly that.
