Jesus was a moralist. He never explained, he just advocated. This is not philosophy.

The problem with fundies and other conservatives, sadly, is that they insist on everything being black-and-white, and in the infallibility of the Bible (and the Constitution). Change or reinterpretation is anathema.

For some reason the extremists have become more shrill and fixed in their positions. I think there used to be a little more respect for facts. Now, there are a lot of people fully willing to propagate lies they know are untrue and know have been utterly debunked. Strict literal Creationism and Kraken theories are two prime examples
