That part is true. But my point in all this back and forth is that this bat crap crazy asinine concept that so-called representatives getting away with criminal activity and in-your-face corruption is acceptable because it's in the name of holy Capitalism, is infuriating. This poster I was going at with actually seems to buy into this. That is akin to saying that it's okay for his/her sister to be raped because stopping it would be infringement upon the personal freedom of the rapist.

Stupidity, cowardly acquiescence and willful ignorance are killing Democracy just as sure as thievery corruption and greed are and the latter cannot exist without the former.

A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

(that the US was built on slave labor).

That's utter bullshit. Complete and utter bullshit. Most of the original colonies didn't even allow slavery and those that did mostly had it in agribusiness.

More right wing bull shit. As long as your gawds continue to own some 80% of the wealth it matters not how hard one works. While people fought to keep their homes, or get food to et, your gawds saw their wealth increase by 62%. Then too, you cannot name a wealthy person who has gained their wealth by paying a living wage, or with their own labor. Start ups yes. After that no.

Ideology is of consummate importance, anatta.
It's ideology that demonstrates how we sincerely desire altogether different things,
and how trying to get along is a fool's errand.

ideology is wilful mental blinders, and prejudicing your thought processes. It's the lazy mind.

    See things as they are, and you do that with critical analysis and thought;
not ensuring what you conceive fits into an ideological mold

Capitalism requires strong regulation. it is natural for companies to collude. They do not want to waste money on things like price wars, better service, and product improvement. They agree not to do that and they just carve up territories. Look at cable and phone as glaring examples. Look at how many gas stations and department stores are gone. Look at banks. Mergers and acquisitions made them billions. We have lost competition. That is harmful to consumers, beneficial to owners and investors.

The USA used to be number one in upward mobility and now it is number thirty-something.

The 'American Dream' of upward mobility is broken. Look at the numbers
The US has far less mobility and equality of opportunity today than almost the entire European Union

One of the reasons for lower US mobility is that the ladder of opportunity has become much harder to climb – because the rungs of the ladder have grown further apart. This is evidenced by the rising levels of income and wealth inequality. Currently, those in the top 20% of the income distribution earn nearly nine times more than those in the bottom 20%. This difference is far greater than in the European Union or the United Kingdom. Wealth inequality is even more skewed. In the United States, the top 5% of the population own three-quarters of the entire financial wealth of the country, while the bottom 60% possess less than 1%.

The United States has traditionally viewed economic success and failure as the result of individual effort. Rugged individualism and self-reliance have been defining qualities of the American character. On the other hand, our European neighbors are much more likely to attribute poverty to structural factors such as social class or the lack of jobs. As a result, other OECD countries are much more willing to invest in a robust social welfare state designed to help ameliorate some of these structural inequities.

Upward mobility has fallen sharply in US

Researchers said that trying to boost gross domestic product—or the total dollar value of goods and services produced—in the United States would not suffice to fix the problem.

Rather, a concerted effort to level the playing field is needed, said an accompanying editorial by Lawrence Katz of Harvard University and Alan Krueger of Princeton University.

"In our view, faster growth is necessary but not sufficient to restore higher intergenerational income mobility," they wrote.

"Evidence suggests that, to increase income mobility, policymakers should focus on raising middle-class and lower-income household incomes."

Interventions worth considering include universal preschool and greater access to public universities, increasing the minimum wage, and offering vouchers to help families with kids move from poor neighborhoods into areas with better schools and more resources, they said.

It is what it is and for these tRumptards and un American repukes in the gutter with their toilet paper media sources of lies, propaganda and misinformation should be reminded of the following:

The U.S. will remain richer than China for the next 50 years or more, says economist
The U.S. will remain wealthier than China — measured by GDP per capita — for at least the next 50 years, said Simon Baptist, global chief economist at the Economist Intelligence Unit.
His comment followed Joe Biden’s first official press conference since taking office, during which the U.S. president said he will not let China become “the leading country” globally.
The latest available data by the International Monetary Fund showed China’s GDP per capita was forecast to be $10,582.10 last year, roughly six times smaller than $63,051.40 in the U.S.
