Default My weekly letter from Rand Paul points out Biden weakness -Big Tech Gov Support

    Dear Friend,

You can view my latest update below!

Dr. Rand Paul Recognizes Two Louisville Metro Police Officers in Louisville

Recently, I traveled to Louisville, to recognize two outstanding Louisville Metro Police Department Officers, Mike Faulkner and Joseph Hardison for their bravery in stopping a potentially deadly incident this past July.

On Monday, July 26, 2021, Officers Mike Faulkner and Joseph Hardison responded to a report of possible shooting victims and quickly mobilized. Body camera footage shows that the suspect trained his weapon on Officer Faulkner as Officer Hardison, who had arrived in a separate squad car, sprinted toward the two. At great risk of personal injury or death, Hardison tackled the suspect, and both officers were able to disarm him and secure the scene.

These officers displayed the full measure of their training and professionalism that day. But they also gave us a glimpse of extraordinary bravery. Thank you, Officers Mike Faulkner, Joseph Hardison, and the Louisville Metro Police Department for continually protecting the community of Louisville!

Dr. Rand Paul Grills Sec. of State Blinken on Biden’s Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal

On Tuesday, I questioned Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the Biden Administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal and continued incompetence.

I have advocated for an end to the Afghan War for over a decade, and I’m glad it’s finally over. But never in my worst nightmare did I believe that we would leave all our weaponry to the Taliban. Dozens of planes and helicopters. Thousands of armored carriers. Hundreds of thousands of automatic weapons. And worst of all 13 of our brave young men and women were killed, and thousands of American citizens were abandoned.

Never in our worst nightmares did anyone conceive of such a colossal incompetence.

To add insult to injury, your USAID released $64 million in aid to Afghanistan on Monday.

In the United States, we have prohibition against giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

The $64 million, however, is just the tip of the iceberg. It is estimated that the US government has $10 billion dollars that could be released to the Taliban.

When, I asked Sec. Blinken if he could pledge that the Biden administration would not release any money to the Taliban, he gave no direct answer.

I also asked Sec. Blinken about a reported U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan and if that strike was against an aid worker or an ISIS-K operative. Sec. Bliken said he didn't know because it was being reviewed. As I remarked in the hearing, you’d think you’d kind of know before you off somebody with a predator drone.

This is the type of incompetence President Biden and the Biden Administration is responsible for. They must be held accountable.

Dr. Rand Paul Speaks on Big Tech Censorship in Beaver Dam and Calhoun

It was great to be in Beaver Dam and Calhoun, where I was able to meet with Kentuckians and local community leaders. During our time, we spoke about the rise of free speech censorship across social platforms and mainstream media, and the threat their socialist policies pose to our great country.

In a continuation of Big Tech’s commitment to act in lockstep with the government’s agenda, social media giants are once again in the hot seat when it comes to infringing upon our freedoms - picking and choosing what content you are allowed to see.

Back in August, I posted an interview with a journalist, and during the interview we discussed a variety of topics, including the science behind masks. Despite the fact that my comments were based on scientific evidence, YouTube took it upon themselves to censor the video, claiming it contradicted the government’s official position on COVID-19.

I then went on to record a video message slamming the tech giant for censorship and noting that moving forward I would be posting my videos on Rumble.com as well, where they don’t censor the news.

Not only did YouTube/Google remove and censor that video as well, but they also suspended my ability to upload videos to my official senate YouTube account for seven days, which was a huge disservice to the thousands of Kentuckians who visit the page for regular updates on the work I am doing for Kentucky in the Senate.

I think this kind of censorship is very dangerous, incredibly anti-free speech, and truly anti-progress of science, which involves skepticism and argumentation to arrive at the truth.

I also think private companies have the right to ban me if they want to, so in this case I have just channeled that frustration into ensuring the public knows YouTube is acting as an arm of the government and censoring their users for contradicting the government.
