The facts are the facts. The lowest 20% pay an effective state and local tax rate of 11.4%. That is the highest effective tax rate of any quintile. The second poorest quintile pays 10.1%, the middle quintile pays 9.9%, the second highest pays 9.5%, the next 15% pays 8.9%, the next 4% pays 8%, and the highest 1% pays 7.4%. Literally the poorest pay the highest percent, and the richest pay the lowest percent. It is a straight regressive tax system.

Wow the Neo-Nazis really got this thread off course. They could not deal with the fact that the poor pay more in state, local, and payroll taxes than the rich. I have no problem admitting the rich pay more in federal income taxes than the poor.

Many of the biggest corporations are paying no corporate taxes for 2020. They get to deduct almost anything as an expense, unlike real people. That allows them to play all sorts of games with taxes, and pay nothing in taxes.

It is sad they cannot discuss the facts without violating Rule 12b. It is just sad.
