    Default If you think the Arizona "audit" is a joke, this one isn't far behind;

"Special prosecutor John Durham charges ex-attorney for Clinton campaign with lying to FBI"

"The special prosecutor probing the origins of the federal investigation into ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, John Durham, has charged Washington lawyer Michael Sussmann with lying to the FBI during the early stages of the inquiry."

"Sussmann, who worked as an attorney for the Hillary Clinton campaign, is accused in a grand jury indictment returned Thursday of a single felony count of making a false statement during a September 2016 meeting with FBI General Counsel James Baker."

"Prosecutors allege Sussmann lied by denying that he was representing any client as he told the FBI about digital evidence allegedly linking computers in Trump Tower to Russia’s Alfa Bank."

    https://www.politico.com/news/2021/0...-to-fbi-512316

This is it? Close to two and half years "investigating," and this is it?

This was supposed to be the investigation, everyone on the right, Sean, Laura, Rush, Bill, Adam, etc, and all the lemmings who believe anything they say, told us this was it, the one that was going to definitively prove that Trump was purposely victimized by the FBI.

And now, some obscure lower lever attorney who once worked for Hillary accused of lying to the FBI because he said he had no clients when he talked to the FBI is going to send McCabe, Baker, Comey, even Obama to jail?

Do you think anyone on the right ever stops for a moment to comprehend how easily they are played and preyed upon by their "leaders" and media?

The case is based on hearsay? I don’t know much about Durham, but why would he crash and burn his career on this awful case? Why is he desperate? Barr and Trump are gone.

Cause he is a believer, just like the rest of them, just can't accept the reality so he has to find a way to reframe it, and he has been at it for over two years now

The case filing can be found here -

    https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000...f-f87f0b590000

This is based on 2 meetings. One with general counsel where they were the only 2 present and the second with 2 employees of agency-2. Agency-2 is not defined but not likely to be the FBI since that would have a different charge.
So he lied to the NSA or the CIA?

The charge is he lied when claimed he wasn't representing a particular client and Durham claims that is a material false statement.
This is going to get laughed out of court. The evidence is almost non-existent and so vague and non material. I hope the judge sanctions the prosecutor for attempting to bring such a laughable case.

Sussman also failed to disclose what he had for breakfast that day. I suspect Durham will be filing an amended indictment to include that as well.

There is only one count in the indictment. It is for the meeting with the FBI general counsel where they were the only 2 present in the meeting.

    OMG. This is so laughable.

    Red meat for the sensationalists.

    Durham is looking pretty desperate.

Like he's trying to justify his job.

Which is basically a joke in the first place, thanks to Bill Barr.

Yep. If it's dirt -- and actual criminal activity -- they want to find, maybe they should be investigating the failed #TRE45ON administration instead.

The evidence of Michael Flynn lying during an FBI investigation is 100 times stronger than this. Flynn lied during an actual investigation and the agents took notes that could be used as evidence against him. What Flynn lied about was material to the investigation since Flynn lied about what he said to the Russian ambassador.
Here there was no investigation at the time. The person Sussman met with never took notes. There is a question as to whether Sussman lied or just failed to disclose. Who Sussman was working for is hardly relevant to the investigation of the server in Trump tower.

Anyone who said Flynn shouldn't have been charged should be screaming about Sussman being charged since this case is so much weaker than the Flynn case.
