Can anyone explain to me why this case has been for days now plastered all over the top of the NY Post and a lot of other places? It is a mania I think, but why? Is it because she is almost certainly dead and is white and is cute and that a white man almost certainly killed her? Is this escapism from the more important and very depressing stories of the day? Do we like the way this makes us feel, all tender and human and caring....an antidote to all of the cold hate that now permeates our society?

I want to understand.

this is a representation of the masses unable to come to terms with people having rights and freedoms. The boyfriend in question isn't sitting in a jail cell or been killed outright even after they assume he's obviously guilty, but won't cooperate and is still sitting in the free world.

My wife, who has always been big in following these sorts of crime stories, and now listens to a lot of true crime podcasts, is less confident then I am that the BF did it. She is at 80%, I am at 95%.
