One thing that I have seen that makes me think that Peterson is correct is this: I have spent most of my life either being on the receiving end of abuse or with others who have, and I have noticed that those who are greatly destabilized by childhood trauma become increasingly less likely to heal as the days wear on. Those who don't catch themselves by their mid 40's almost certainly never will, and they just keep getting worse.
