Default Rock and Roll Could Never Hip Hop Like This

    Dear Michael Steele,

    You're trying too hard.

    Very truly yours,

    Dungheap

Newly elected Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele plans an “off the hook” public relations offensive to attract younger voters, especially blacks and Hispanics, by applying the party's principles to “urban-suburban hip-hop settings.”

The RNC's first black chairman will “surprise everyone” when updating the party's image using the Internet and advertisements on radio, on television and in print, he told The Washington Times.

Just please, please, please don't let "MC Rove" anywhere near a stage!
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

Maybe so, but this shit is hilarious. "Urban-suburban hip hop settings?" "Off the hook?" And this coming off his "bling bling" remarks on the stimulus bill? Please.

I swear to God, if you didn't know who Michael Steele was, you'd swear this shit was coming from Mitt Romney trying to pretend he was black again.

    THIS is some funny shit.

So Mike is going to bring hip-hop to a bunch of right-wing geezers.

Maybe he can get the Jonas Brothers to perform Bootylicious or Gin and Juice .. but I'm betting there ain't too much in the way of hip hop that is going to support the right-wing.

Enjoy the short tenure at the RNC Mike.

Actually, it seems natural with the worst forms of rap/hip hop. They can sing about killing and stealing. It's not just the GOP but also the OGP.

The party will never allow big name hip hop artists into any function of theirs. No self respecting hip hop artists will appear.

Actually back in the day Eazy-E went to White House and had dinner with Bush Sr. while he was President and Eazy-E was about as hard and as gangster as it got. However I agree with you today. With Obama as President no rapper would be caught dead at a GOP event.

Depends on how many corrupt cops were around the rapper. You get enough of them.... and that rapper could easily turn up dead.

Ha you beat me to it.

Let's see... There are some rappers who seem to have some sympathy for Republicans. Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana rap about being "Black Republicans", but they also talk a lot about Obama too. Most of them just really aren't that political. The ones that are like Nas and Immortal Technique are usually anarcho-socialist types.

The Daily Show had this segment where they discussed the weirdly similar positions of rappers and Republicans on certain issues.
