Default Portland mulls banning travel, goods and services from the state of Texas

Portland City Council will consider an emergency resolution next week to ban future travel, goods and services from the state of Texas until the unconstitutional ban on abortion is withdrawn or overturned in court.

Mayor Wheeler announced today that the Portland City Council will vote on an emergency resolution next Wednesday, September 8th, with the intent to ban the City’s future procurement of goods and services from, and City employee business travel to, the state of Texas.

The ban will be in effect until the state of Texas withdraws its unconstitutional ban on abortion or until it is overturned in court. City legal counsel is currently evaluating the legal aspects of this proposed resolution. The Portland City Council stands unified in its belief that all people should have the right to choose if and when they carry a pregnancy and that the decisions they make are complex, difficult, and unique to their circumstances.

Texas has the most expensive oil in the world. It can only survive, because it is part of the USA getting capital as part of the USA. If you start removing that, it starts looking worse than Mexico.

This is the same city council that is not only letting Portland die, but is pushing it in that direction.

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.
