Stones Drummer Charlie Watts Leaves Us
Although I'm far from a huge rock and roll fan,
we're talking about the Rolling Stones,
pretty much the standard bearers for blues tinged rock and roll.
The heartbeat of the Rolling Stones was drummer Charlie Watts.
Charlie's drumming never drew attention to itself.
Instead, it made the song sound as good as it possibly could.
Charlie Watts was the quintessential musician's drummer,
and from all accounts,
the quintessential bandmate as well.
RIP Charlie. You were as good as it gets.
