It is one thing to appreciate luxury items. I appreciate classic guitars, masterpiece works of art, premium vodka. My papa had a classic 18th century Italian violin purportedly worth 50k.
It is another thing entirely to feel compelled to display exotic material possessions for strangers and the general public. I do not know why Trump thinks he benefits from having photos of his gold-guilded penthouse and golden toilet put out in the public domain.
Well, Trump is a notoriously insecure blowhard who thinks that other people should respect him because he claims to be worth money. He owns things that are worth money. The man has never loved and never been loved by anyone, so material possessions appear to have taken that place for him.
Agreed on appreciating fine things over simply showing off with money.
There are some things, like bucket list items, which often require disposable funds and the obligatory "Hi! from XXX" picture in Facebook**.
It's not my style to continually brag to friends about travels even though comparing travels with friends can sometimes feel that way. Same with any other displays.
IMO, only people who believe they are better than others do such things.

When on vacation you could always booby trap the house for thieves, per Home Alone.
I do not think it is ostentatious to share photos with friends of a trip to Croatia or Belarus. That simply caters to pure, genuine human interest.
I do not see the need for Trump to publicly show off his golden toilet or Kim Kardashian to post video of her jewelry shopping excursion at Tiffany's.

And an excellent one at that!
Let's hope everyone is clear that it's great for Americans to have the opportunity to work where they want to and, if retired, only if they want to. I'm guilty of ridiculing others for ditch digging and mopping, but it's not the job that makes the man. I expect most of us have done shit jobs. Others, walk into shitty jobs with their eyes wide open. Shoveling horeshit on a ranch may be a shitty job for some and horse heaven for others.
It's only when people whine about their jobs and then refuse to do anything about it that bothers me. In the case of the OP, as mentioned beforehand, I have mixed feelings. Partly I'm pissed because our leaders failed tens of millions of Americans by getting us to this point in the first place.
Millions of evictions will go down in history as an American failure.

Leave behind the 9 year old? Hmmm....could be a good idea on many levels.
Sharing is an excellent word and agreed. Bragging is not "sharing" anymore than beating someone over the head with a stick is "handing it to them"
The good news is that such displays are indicators of a person's character. I wouldn't vote for him. OTOH, when Clinton lied to the American public by saying "I didn't inhale", I wouldn't vote for him either.

Texas still has 500 million left in federal funds to help them. That will still run until thru October- or till the money runs out.
The problem is many people applied for it, and are still waiting for the help to come in.
And some counties are extending the moratorium here in Texas thru October.
Only a fucking moron thinks a JPP member can't read. Obviously they can. Just because you disagree with them doesn't mean they can't.
Regardless of political parties and ideologies, this isn't like "The Dress Challenge" two years ago. Thousands of Americans are dead who should still be alive. Five people were killed at Trump's rally after he ordered them to Congress to "stop the steal". Now he says he shall return on August 13th.
This isn't about vision perspective, it's about the difference between sanity and insanity. More American blood will run in the streets and Trump's mark on American history will be sealed.
