You saying the US should model itself after India?

Voter ID is not a problem, Voter ID fraud is near nonexistent, “occurs 0.00006 percent" of the time and has been found to have any on any election outcome (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_...United_States) (https://www.brennancenter.org/issues...th-voter-fraud)

So the question becomes why disenfranchise any voter over something that has yet to be proven necessary

Correct for the most part. But eliminating drop boxes, limiting voting hours, and removing polling places in black communities IS voter suppression. And those are only examples. Even more dangerous is allowing a partisan body to overturn an election result. These efforts will fail. A Voting Rights Act will pass, and these laws will be struck down.

Yes forcing people to have ID is a problem serious enough that it will take away many people's right to vote.

Correct. Forcing someone to obtain an ID is unnecessary. They can prove residence with many other documents, and those documents ARE required to register and vote. So the entire Voter ID meme is meaningless. There is no significant organized voter fraud. It is a non-existent problem. Completely made up by citing the rare anecdote. Frankly, in most cases, the persons committing this fraud are Republicans.

Voter ID is a problem. Voter fraud is a problem. The much bigger problem is election fraud. Voter ID can actually help there as well to some extent.

An ID does not take away a person's right to vote.

    Republicans are not Democrats.

You sure are a MAGA. The fact is you show ID when you register to vote. Perhaps you never did that. I have signed potential voters up and sent the forms to the election commission.
The fact is no investigation ever showed it was a problem that people assumed someone's identity to vote. The fact that you are pushing it shows how comfortable you are with cultivating lies to hurt Dem voters. From 200 to 2014 there were 31 cases of voter impersonation. That is .00006 percent. It is not a problem
Integrity? You have no idea what that is.

Of course, you do not know how elections work, so that makes you an expert. You do not have enough knowledge base to understand. Trot back to Infowars and "learn" more.
Our election system is checked after every election. It is a very clean system with near-zero cheating. I gave you stats on how much voter ID fraud has been found. It is near zero, like your ability to understand is.

Agreed, although I have not yet seen any evidence anybody has not been able to vote because they could not get an ID.

We should start requiring proof of citizenship when a person registers to vote.
