Masks protect you from droplets. Droplets contain a much larger viral load than aerosols.

Even with aerosols masks reduce the aerosols that can reach you because when you wear a mask all the air you breathe in does not come around the mask. If 60% comes through the mask and masks stop 80% of aerosols then a mask will reduce your viral load by almost 50%. (Studies have shown that surgical masks stop 80% of aerosols compared to the 95% of an N95 mask.) You statement about masks being too porous would point to you being ignorant of how filtration works.
surgical masks: Easy to obtain; comfortable; affordable; convenient; disposable (good for situations when the mask may get wet or dirty); nose wires (if available) can be adjusted.

Cons: These masks often fit loosely. Masks with ear loops may not be adjustable enough to achieve a better fit. Masks with tie cords can provide a better fit for some people. Poor fit causes gaps around the nose and along the sides of the face where respiratory droplets containing the virus can leak in and out; designed for one-time use.

they are useless because of the poor fit. those numbers of yours make no sense -but surgical masks allow 80%
    of aerosol thru
    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1524265/
    ~~

further there is no direct correlation of mask wearing and even stopping the spread

Then the latest CDC - vaxxed need masks is even more dubious. no data at all given
you can see the warning lots of "mays" and weasel words

The really counterproductive part is making vaxxed wear masks surely adds to vaxx hesitancy

Did you bother to read your link? Do you understand what the word "latter" means?

A surgical mask consisting of filter material performed better than did a surgical mask consisting only of a shell with a coarse pore structure. The latter passed 80% of submicrometer-sized aerosols with little flow dependency, whereas the penetration of submicrometer-sized aerosols through the mask made of filter material ranged from 25% at a flow rate of 5 L/min to 70% at 100 L/min.
I can't buy a surgical mask that consist of only a shell with a coarse pore structure. Perhaps it was possible in 1992 when the study was done but that is no longer the case. The surgical masks available to the general public all contain a filter material and are at least 3 layers. (They may be better than the ones tested in 1992.) Then the part of the study you refer to only deals with submicrometer-size aerosols which for a normal breathing person would block between 50-80% of the particles. When you go look at the actual study. https://www.ajicjournal.org/article/...05)80143-9/pdf It clearly states that a surgical mask with a filter blocks 80% of the particles that are 0.75 micrometer and larger. That leaves us with a standard surgical mask in 2021 would block 80% of particles that are larger than 0.75 micron and at least 50% of any smaller particles. Aerosols are anything smaller than 50 micrometers.

Perhaps you should start by checking out the data in any studies you try to use before you attack others for not using data.

Well, I mean you should wear a mask at all times because you are ugly and people don't want to see your face.

Again, dead right. He couldn't have described the Democrats and what they are doing better than that!

In many areas, that count is in single digits (I looked up Baltimore Maryland this morning because our resident racist cited it as a covid ridden urban shithole, and the number in the county was 3.6 cases per 100,000).

So right now, in Duval county Florida, you are more than 200 times more likely to contract Covid than you are in Baltimore Maryland. Unvaxxed people are five times less likely to contract Covid if exposed. So in Duval County, even as a vaxxed person, you are 40 times more likely to contract Covid than an unvaccinated person in Baltimore, assuming you do not practice masking and social distancing. You are also far more likely to be hospitalized here even as a vaccinated person than you are in Baltimore. This is why the unvaxxed morons are impacting those of us who are vaccinated. You are vastly increasing OUR chances of catching the virus. Meanwhile, we are now masking again to protect YOUR fucking sorry asses, while you spread it to each other like Typhoid Mary. Florida is in for a public health disaster unlike anything we have seen in this country in a century. Say goodbye to the White House governor. You can't hide the numbers forever. People are starting to die.
That's the crux. Delta variant is 100 times more contagious. Vaxxed people will not suffer major illness, but we can certainly increase the spread to the 40% of the nation that is mentally deficient.

    Yeppers.

If they don't want us to wear masks for their sake, that would be fine. It's on them. Their decision.

And as even yourself highlighted, on rare occasions even those vaccinated can pass the virus, which when dealing with the strong highly contagious Delta variant, even rare occasions has to be taken seriously

The irony of it is that it was recommended for those in hot spots where the variant is quickly spreading, meaning largely Red States, the same people who are refusing to get the vaccine cause some TV demagogue or politician as McCarthy undercuts the importance of getting vaccinated.
Now that they've decided that being pro vax is politically expedient, they have to attack Fauci for something.
