Default Five takeaways from gripping officer testimony at the first January 6 hearing

"Some congressional Republicans have suggested there was no insurrection, that the rioters weren't violent or armed, and Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia even compared scenes from the January 6 rioters to a 'normal tourist visit.'"

"'It's indescribable. You're defending the indefensible,' Gonell said of those lawmakers defending the insurrectionists. 'It demoralizes not just the rank-and-file but the future recruits. What do you think people considering becoming law enforcement officers think when they see elected leaders downplaying this. Why would I risk my life for them, when they don't even care?'"

This is the darkest time in the US of my life. I can't even imagine a solution. It feels utterly hopeless. And day by day, as we head into the next fall and winter and sunlight becomes shorter, things get worse.

No doubt for 25 year olds and younger it is. 9/11 was worse and the Sixties were waaaaay worse than both 9/11 and 1/6 put together.

We'll be fine. Buy more popcorn, your favorite beverage (I like Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red cut with water and ice) and sit back to watch the show. I expect this will last all the way to President Harris's election in 2024. Most of the trials and plea deals will be done by then. The 2022 Midterms will prove America is back on track even if not fully recovered.
God bless America and those who defend our Constitution.

Prove it in court. Unfortunately, I doubt it'll go any higher than one step inside the White House.

OTOH, all those other fuckers will become felons who can't vote, can't own guns and forever condemned to a minimum wage job.

    Five takeaways
and what are the five according to CNN?....
    1. gut-wrenching testimony illustrates violence
    2. rioters were terrorists
    3. The select committee is going after Trump
    4. Trump allies are on the outside looking in
    5. The impact of January 6 goes well beyond politics

obviously takeaways 1-4 show that 5 is a lie.......the investigation itself is heavily vested in politics......

I don't avoid Portland. I think it's a great city. It has nothing to do with this thread. Jesus, if I simply watch half an hour of Fox News every few days, I know every fucking word you brain dead assholes are going to say before it comes out of your mouth.
