Wrong. What part of "it's Canada's oil, not ours" don't you understand? One of the drivers behind rising prices at the pump is the lack of refinery capacity. Remove Canada's oil from the equation and suddenly you have more refinery capacity for OUR oil. More supply = lower prices. Were you even aware that Keystone would have carried tar sands oil across American soil? Did you know that we have refineries in Illinois just outside St. Louis, which is where XL would have terminated?

The RW masters have sold you a bill of goods. We lived for eleven years in a rural county NW of St. Louis. One year a pipeline company proposed to build a pipeline through the county, crossing through a state park, farm fields, forests, and over at least two rivers. Most citizens were in favor of it because they were told it would create JOBS. Yes, it did. The company brought in outside workers, put them up in short-term rentals while they constructed the pipeline, and then *poof* -- they were gone. The only boost to the local economy was the money the workers spent on lodging and food.

Plant oils are already replacing petroleum in a lot of products, that to me is very good news.
