Pelosi has no authority over the National Guard. It is the president who controls the National Guard in DC, and allows the National Guard of other states to enter DC. If the Capital Police were ordered to request the National Guard, it would be the full committee that would do that. Pelosi has no individual authority over the Capital Police. She has one vote, along with McCarthy who has one vote. If there was a decision about the Capital Police, McCarthy was in on it.

So basically McCarthy is not only lying, but he knows he is lying.

trump has no control of the US Capital Police. The Congress as a whole controls the US Capital Police. That includes Pelosi, but McConnel would have been the senior person.

Here some basic facts to help you understand what is going on...



(1) As Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OPERATIONAL DECISIONS MADE WITHIN THE HOUSE.



(2) Pelosi was responsible for the failure to protect the Capital from trespassers on 6th Jan 2021.



(3) Days before, President Trump predicted that the rally of his supporters would be MASSIVE, and indeed it was the biggest rally he said he had ever seen, with 100's of thousand of supporters streching back all the way to the Washington Monument.

(4) On the 4th of January, 2021, Trump suggested that 10,000 National Guardsmen be mobilised on the 6th to keep order if necessary.



(5) Trump's recommendation to was conveyed to Pelosi by the DC police and the HOUSE Sergeant - At - Arms.



(6) Pelosi rejected the offer, saying it would make for bad "optics."



(7) Washington DC is technically controlled by Congress, and the states are independent. So, a constitutionalist (Trump) does not send in troops unless invited. If Trump HAD sent troops in, the Democrats would have accused him of instigating a Coup D'etat



(8) Pelosi summarily fired the two men: the Sergeant at Arms and the DC police officer, after the Capitol was breached on the 6th January, 2021. The were the two men who conveyed the recommendation by Trump to Pelosi (on 4th January, 2021), that 10,000 National Guards be deployed on the 6th, in case anything got out of hand, due to the MASSIVE number of rally-goers who were predicted to attend on the 6th.
