Default “Covid-19 Takes Dramatic Toll on U.S. Life Expectancy”

“ Life expectancy in the United States dropped the most in more than seven decades last year as Covid-19 sent hundreds of thousands of Americans to early deaths.

“The first year of the pandemic reduced Americans’ life expectancy at birth by 1.5 years, to 77.3 years. That erased the country’s gains since 2003. It was the largest annual decline since 1943, in the middle of World War II. Goldman said that it was the second largest decline since the 1918 influenza pandemic, which is believed to have killed some 50 million people worldwide.”

“The 2020 pandemic decline widened the distance between the U.S. and other wealthy democracies like France, Israel, South Korea and the U.K.”

“This is not a decline that happened in other high-income countries, so something went terribly wrong in the U.S., where the number of Americans who died was vastly in excess of what it needed to be,”

Yeah, something did go terribly wrong in the US, Trump, and the idiocy of his addressing Covid

The gap between the USA and other high-income countries is going to get larger. Or to be more accurate, the gap between the alt right, and everyone else in high-income countries(including other Americans) is going to get larger.

Our leaders sure did bungle this pandemic.

    Buckle Up.

    Trump.

Did they factor in the dramatic increase in deaths due to Fentanyl? That happens primarily in young people whereas the average age of Covid mortality is in the same neighborhood as the average life expectancy. How about all those missed elective procedures during the interval hospitals were forced to cancel them? How many people a lot younger than 70-something missed their cancer screenings? Or their heart caths? They don’t do these procedures for giggles.

I have no doubt *the very likely engineered* CCP virus had an adverse affect on mortality. But I would suggest they drill down a little deeper into their data before drawing conclusions.
Coup has started. First of many steps. Impeachment will follow ultimately~WB attorney Mark Zaid, January 2017

With those credentials it’s surprising she’s not a “regular contributor health expert” on Fox, she has the script done, just tell them what they want to hear

    Cancer

    Number of deaths: 598,932
Though the total number of cancer deaths in the U.S. ticked down by 669, cancer remained the No. 2 killer of Americans in 2020, accounting for about 18% of overall deaths.

And, if the folks with cardiovascular comorbidity issues cut out the sugar & carbs they would be least likely to die of Covid. Put the wrong fuel in anything,
it breaks down, doesn't run right, destroys parts needed for optimum performance and longevity.
Non-fearmongering, apolitical, non partisan common sense. You're welcome.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

What these misinformation, race baiting and ignoramuses should understand the problem with covid-19 in America exist in mainly repuke led states and to which those states are not all people of color either. Running with a self proclaimed superiority complex is a sure way to drop dead because covid-19 does not discriminate:

Florida, Missouri and Texas now account for 40% of new coronavirus cases in U.S.

WASHINGTON — Just three states are now driving the pandemic in the United States, as the divide between vaccinated and unvaccinated regions of the country becomes ever more stark, as the more transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus spreads.

Forty percent of all new cases this week have been recorded in Florida, Texas and Missouri, White House pandemic response coordinator Jeff Zients revealed at a press briefing Thursday.

Florida alone accounts for 20 percent of all new cases nationally, Zients pointed out, a trend that has stretched into its second week.

Zients added that “virtually all” hospitalizations and deaths — a full 97 percent — are among unvaccinated people. “The threat is now predominantly only to the unvaccinated,” he said. A few vaccinated people do experience so-called breakthrough infections, but they tend to experience only mild COVID-19 illness, or no illness at all.
