Hurkeye's back on the meth again, with multiple psycho posts that are difficult to decipher.

Today's teachers are just as dedicated, unselfish, and professional as they've always been. How do I know this? I'm the mother of one of them. How many other professions can you name where an employee with a masters degree makes less than $50K/year, spends her own money on classroom supplies, exposes herself to illness every day, takes it personally if a child is struggling, and brings her work home for several unpaid hours/week -- yet loves her job?

Wow! Nothing like lazy generalizing to ensure no point is made. All educators should be lumped together and punished because????

So if a police officer, republican representative does something illegal you support all being punished?

If not, please change your name to partisan hypocrite so everyone knows your truth.

Oh, and please define how teachers have betrayed us.

    Nice work.
Teaching seems like one of those jobs people generally only do if they genuinely enjoy it. It is never going to make them wealthy, affluent, or even comfortably upper middle class

Ever notice that the only ones attacking real teachers (not those who merely pretend to the profession) are always Reichwingers? Why is that, do you think? It's almost as though they despise education and those who provide it.

No, not unless they have a spouse who makes a good salary. My daughter knew when she was only seven or so that she would be a teacher. She never wavered from that goal. And this from a child who had speech and reading disabilities in grade school. She graduated summa cum laude. We are very, very proud of her.

    You should be proud.

Teaching seems like a calling, more than a career, in a way that business, sales, finance, banking aren't.

Some of the most admired people in history were teachers: Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Jesus, Siddhartha Guatama, Confucius. And none of them did it for the money.

I really cannot name any bankers who reach that level of exemplary reputation.

It's hard to understand these Reichwingers, because they're just not rational people who use logic.
