A Las Cruces man in the country illegally is accused of decapitating another man at Apodaca Park was indicted by a grand jury.
Police said Joel Arciniega-Saenz, 25, decapitated another man and kicked his head around like a soccer ball on June 21. Arciniega-Saenz was out of jail on an unsecured bond prior to the alleged murder.
Arciniega-Saenz was indicted on charges of first-degree murder; he was also scheduled for a pre-trial detention hearing on Tuesday, however, his defense attorney asked for a continuance.
