Default Supreme Court Backs Payments to Student-Athletes in N.C.A.A. Case

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court unanimously ruled on Monday that the N.C.A.A. could not bar relatively modest payments to student-athletes, a decision that underscored the growing challenges to a college sports system that generates huge sums for schools but provides little or no compensation to the players.

Then every student on athletic scholarship should use payments to reimburse tuition money.

Plus, the kids giving it their all, but who not , and are not going to be stars, deserve a piece of the team's ticket sales; the kids who are college stars should get a % of their jersey/memorabilia sales....it was total bullshit that they took Reggie Bush's Heisman trophies because a booster got his mom an apartment away from the bloody, violent streets she was stuck in....total bullshit.
TRUMP WILL TAKE FORTY STATES...UNLESS THE SAME IDIOTS WHO BROUGHT US THE 2020 DUNCE-O-CRAT IOWA CLUSTERFUCK CONTINUE THEIR SEDITIOUS ACTIVITIES...THEN HE WILL WIN EVEN MORE ..UNLESS THE RED CHINESE AND DNC COLLUDE, USE A PANDEMIC, AND THEN THE DEMOCRATS VIOLATE ARTICLE II OF THE CONSTITUTION, TO FACILLITATE MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL, UNVETTED, MAIL IN BALLOTS IN THE DARK OF NIGHT..

Student tuition pays for their athletic program. Most college sports lose money for the university.

No. Maybe the top five or 10 make money. But most universities lose money.

Never saw the proof. It's just something people believe with no evidence.

How much money do colleges make off of sports?
The total athletics revenue reported among all NCAA athletics departments in 2019 was $18.9 billion.

Revenue. Not including rent for stadium and services. Not including cost of labor for coaches and staff.

Reggie Bush is Black, so you assume his mother lives on "bloody, violent streets." Actually, they come from Spring Valley, a nice town in San Diego. The murder rate is 2.4 There are only 9 states with a lower murder rate. For an urban area in the USA, that is amazingly low.

You are including alumni donations in the "profits" of college football. Does MIT get huge alumni donations because of its football team, or because of its academics?

Most universities with sport teams are non-profit, so they can make any profit they want from one part of their operation, and not be penalized in the slightest.

His family didn’t take money from a booster. A booster is someone associated with the school. They took money from a wanna be agent. The agent put them up in a home. And while Spring Valley has crime its hardly bloody violent streets. It’s not Compton or Watts. Not sure where you are getting this from.
