The difference between taking a civics class and "reading books" is that the teacher of the civics class will apply critical thinking and analysis to the subject matter that you simply can't on your own.

    Right.

Democrats did things by the book.

    Republicans did not.

So both sides are the same, then?

the stupidity of all y'all is astounding............

you really should take a serious history class
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

If you read the above, you'll see that it says 'congress shall make no law'......it doesn't say 'the people have the following rights'..............

now, it's been explained to you.

Oh. You are confused about enumerating rights and assuming rights.

You need to take the classes, man, since you decided to skip them in lieu of "reading books" without any critical thinking or guidance.

i'm not confused, but I think you are. where, in the first amendment, does it enumerate a right to freedom of religion, or freedom of speech, or freedom of the press, or the right to peacably assemble. where does it say it gives us those rights?

Well, clearly we don't agree because you think the Declaration is a founding or governing document, and I know it's just a press release.

I feel very badly for you and your kids to believe that people are unable to use critical thinking and analysis without a piece of paper saying that they can.
You have to first DEVELOP critical thinking skills before you can use them.

No one is born with those skills.

    They are not genetic.

    They are taught and learned.

And you DEVELOP critical thinking skills not in high school, but in college.

College...the thing you refuse to do to educate yourself, choosing instead to confirm your inherent biases by "reading books".

I think you're afraid of classrooms because you never saw a ton of success in them. I think a classroom would trigger you.

It is a FOUNDING document. I never said it was a governing document, especially because the government hadn't been created yet. and you know jack shit about being a 'press release'...........who ever taught you that crap did you a huge disservice.

and you're still wrong about that. I know way too many college educated morons whose only ability to apply critical thinking is in the majors they studied, but outside of that they are morons, much like you said you are.

On the other hand, critical thinking skills CAN and HAS BEEN taught in high school, but you'd have to be over the age of 45 to understand that. The military can also teach critical thinking skills, but you hate the military, so..........whatever.

the bottom line is that you're just wrong about 'college' being the only place to learn those skills.

Correct. But the premise remains that whenever a govt works against the people it is their right to abolish it. That idea hasn't changed.

So your argument is that the govt can do whatever the fuck it likes and nobody can do anything about it?
