Like I said, I spent last week in Texas and carried the whole time. I’m leaving for Maine Tuesday morning and will be in Vermont and New Hampshire also next week. Still weighing if I’ll carry while there…but likely will. It’s not too terrible to transport my weapon on the plane. One of the concerns though is having to leave my weapon in the vehicle while we are at certain venues.

Pack your socks in one of these. The cable attaches around whatever you like. Trunk hinges can work.

but having an ID to buy a gun, or lots of guns, and lots of ammo, and walk around in public is just not very important- what is the worst that could happen?

Texas "constitutional carry" signed into law, goes into effect ...https://www.texastribune.org › 2021/06/16 › texas-cons...
4 days ago — Texans can carry handguns without a license or training starting Sept. 1, after Gov. Greg Abbott signs permitless carry bill into law ... to carry handguns if they're not prohibited by state or federal law from possessing a gun.

If you open carry you have to be able to prove you are old enough (21) to open carry. I.D.

Explain to me why you would ever need an AR15 to defend yourself, or your home? Then maybe you can try and explain just what Madison, and other Founding Fathers, meant when they wrote the Second. It sure as hell was not to have a permanent standing military like your kind depend on.

What makes an AR15 a problem as compared to a shotgun or a handgun?

Well, that explains your ignorance. However, why not try to answer the question instead of defending those that care not for the oath they took when entering the military.

that makes it a loophole, stupid shit. good god. did you finish grade school even?

    1. Federally licensed gun sellers are required to run background checks. But not all sellers are required to be licensed (that is the loophole, dumbfuck). Some of those unlicensed sellers sell at gun shows.

Federal law requires that persons who are engaged in the business of dealing in firearms be licensed by the federal government.

Once they’re licensed, they are required to conduct background checks on all buyers.

But private sellers without a federal license don’t have to meet the same requirement. Though this exception is often referred to as the "gun show loophole," it actually applies more broadly to unlicensed individuals, whether they are selling at a gun show or somewhere else. (Some states have implemented their own background check requirement beyond federal law.)

Do you have to show proof of identity to get a drivers license?

gun ownership is regulated in every state today. in order to buy a gun you have to pass a background check, no one can own a machine gun, or a bazooka, or a tank. We have plenty of gun regulations already. The way to stop mass shootings is to enforce the laws we already have and keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill.

same question for you: how many mass shootings have been done by concealed permit holders?
"Keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill"?

    I agree.
    Teabaggers (www.teaparty.org) don't.

    February 28 2017
President Donald Trump quietly signed a bill into law Tuesday rolling back an Obama-era regulation that made it harder for people with mental illnesses to purchase a gun.

The rule, which was finalized in December, added people receiving Social Security checks for mental illnesses and people deemed unfit to handle their own financial affairs to the national background check database.

The National Rifle Association “applauded” Trump’s action. Chris Cox, NRA-ILA executive director, said the move “marks a new era for law-abiding gun owners, as we now have a president who respects and supports our arms.”

    Even for crazy people.
