I think it's utter and complete bullshit conspiracy theory nonsense. While it's hard to see the airmen in the background clearly, if you look carefully you make out some of the name and branch of service tapes along with see patches on some of the uniform sleeves.

The military for something like this would have ordered the troops to show up. They'd have no choice but to be there. I've been to some of this sort of event, and every time you are ordered to be at such-and-such location by x000 hours, and sometimes expected to even do a muster to make sure all your worker bees are present. The last thing the Zeros in charge want is to look bad to Biden and his staff. There will be retribution if the hall was nearly empty--which it would be if the troops had their choice.

The last thing anyone in the military wants to go to is what amounts to a dog and pony show where they might face uniform inspection. For those working in dirty jobs--rather than air conditioned offices-- they want no part of this shit because they have to change uniforms to one that isn't dirty or messed up from whatever they were working on. The middle management (eg., senior NCO's) want no part of it because it just puts them behind on their work load and assignments.

Doesn't matter which branch of service it is either. They're all the same. Some VIP muckty-muck shows up and the entire base turns into a clusterfuck of idiocy because of it.

Yea, it usually does. At least they let them wear the everyday camo ones and didn't require a dress uniform. What makes it suck is you don't have a choice about it. Sure, following orders is part of being in the military but a dog and pony show is for the benefit of the upper end of the officer ranks and nobody else.
Unlike a civilian job those in charge, like I was, could simply tell the troops that to make up for that idiocy of having to go to Biden's speech we'll make up the lost production time by working two extra hours for the next week. The military doesn't get overtime and I can order that as easy as saying it.

You've never served. I have. Having to wear a dress uniform for something like Biden giving a speech is a big PITA. Going to some boring speech by a politician, particularly if you don't give a shit about them, sucks. Having to assemble at 3 am sucks. Standing on a beach at 2 am half way through a boring generator watch sucks.
