Default The leftist media in the news

Early Saturday morning, a gunman shot and injured at least 19 people outside an Austin, Texas, bar.

But the city’s flagship newspaper, the leftist Austin-American Statesman, refused to release the description of the suspect, a dangerous mass shooter who was still on the run, because—you guessed it—it would be racist.

The newspaper white-splained in an Editor’s Note appended to its main story on the shooting:

Editor’s note: Police have only released a vague description of the suspected shooter as of Saturday morning. The Austin American-Statesman is not including the description as it is too vague at this time to be useful in identifying the shooter and such publication could be harmful in perpetuating stereotypes. If more detailed information is released, we will update our reporting.

The description circulated by police was not, by any stretch of the imagination, “vague.”

The description, in fact, dramatically reduced the suspect pool in the Austin area, narrowing it down to black males wearing dreadlocks.

If you’re a police officer (or a citizen at risk from an at-large criminal) wouldn’t you want to know that information?

And then there’s this bit from the newspaper’s report: “Police said they had zeroed in on two suspects involved in [a] previous dispute and were rapidly working to arrest them.”

In other words, the Statesman knew that the police knew who the suspects were.

If the police said the suspects were black, why didn’t the newspaper take the police department at its word?

I’ll tell you why: the Statesman wants to perpetuate the fictional narrative that dangerous, gun-toting white supremacist rednecks are roaming the city of Austin, hunting black people.

The Statesman would have us believe that everyone in the Austin area was a potential suspect, when, in fact, the newspaper knew that not to be true. (On a related note, the same public safety issues arise when no one knows whether a suspect is a male or a female because assuming someone’s gender might result in hurt feelings.)

Austin is not alone in prioritizing the woke agenda over safety.

San Francisco police released the picture of a black suspect who lit a woman on fire on a BART train, but blurred out the assailant's face, purportedly to avoid perpetuating racial stereotypes.

Austin and other U.S. cities continue to demonstrate that they care more about being woke than protecting the public from dangerous criminals.

A social justice battle, or just a DUI at the wrong time and place?

One woman has died and three were injured after a car plowed into protesters blocking the road in a demonstration over the shooting death of Winston Boogie Smith.

The leftist Minneapolis Star Tribune suggests that this was deliberate, part of a “battle” underway in the Twin Cities:

"Police said the suspect was pulled from his car by protesters after the 11:39 p.m. crash and is now in custody and being treated for injuries at a hospital. Police did not say how the man was hurt or give the extent of his injuries. The man’s motive was not immediately known. There had been ongoing protests in Uptown after the shooting June 3 of Winston Boogie Smith Jr., a 32-year-old father of three. A social justice battle is being waged particularly in an Uptown Minneapolis alley, again and again and again.."

Affiliates for NBC and Fox report, however, that police suspect that drugs or alcohol might be to blame for what could just be an accident:

"Police took the suspect into custody at the scene. They are being treated at a nearby hospital. The motive for the incident is still under investigation, but police said drugs and alcohol may have played a factor".

That wouldn’t fit the narrative very well.

With usurper Biden in Europe for his first overseas diplomatic mission to the G7 summit, the leftist media have been tripping over themselves to put out doting reports that glorify the pointless and empty spectacle and overtures emanating from his handlers.

A recent Time magazine cover touted Biden for supposedly standing up to Putin despite the fact he's done nothing except approve Putin's pipeline.

The broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) had largely ignored Biden lifting the sanctions that kept the pipeline from being completed.

I strongly suspect it was a gang beef.

But DEMOCRATS think disarming law-abiding citizens and defunding the police will stop the killing.

First off, how much more self incriminating can the title be, “the leftist media in the news,” so what other media is there that will pass judgement on the “leftist media?” And true to form “copy and paste” returns with “PJ media,” funny, and goes so far as to label the local newspaper “leftist”

Secondly, because the local police didn’t definitively identify suspects the way “PJ Media” wanted them to to fit the narrative “PJ media” was propagandizing, they were holding back so they wouldn’t be called racist. I think most people would go with the local authorities decisions in the case over that of what “PJ media” thinks the local police should have done

    Inane thread

The suspect(s) remains at-large. It is unknown if there is one, or multiple suspects involved. There is one suspect described as a black male, with dread locks, wearing a black shirt and a skinny build.

Regardless, the point is that easy access to guns makes it possible for even wannabe gangsters to get the weapon of their choice, another mass shooting, just another day in America, and the right’s solution, more guns

If you had the reading and comprehension skills of a 5 year old, you'd have known that it was the newspaper that refused to put out a suspect description, not "the local authorities", and not "the local police", Anchovies.

But you obviously don't have the reading and comprehension skills of a 5 year old, Anchovies.

    Poor Anchovies.

You think making something illegal to own will keep criminals from obtaining it, Anchovies?

When he's not guest hosting MSNBC's The Cross Connection, Jason Johnson is a politics and journalism professor at Morgan State University, which does not inspire confidence in the next generation of journalists as he warned on Saturday of "catastrophic implications" of the Supreme Court's 6-3 conservative balance and condemned Sen. Mitch McConnell for not allowing DEMOCRATS to pack the Court.

Johnson's monologue was the result of a question from a viewer wondering what "we" have to do to make the Court more "fair and balanced" and representative of the "diverse country in which we live."

He informed the audience that all that needs to be done to expand the Court is for Congress to pass a law.

He then went on to declare that the mere existence the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh should've been enough to sink his confirmation, "then by helping getting a man accused of sexual misconduct onto the bench."

Finally, Johnson accused McConnell of "jamming through Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation just eight days before the election of 2020."
