Behaviorists, like me, only want to see how they react under various stimuli such as industrial psychologists often test or implement.
Behaviorism doesn't get into the whys of what a subject feels. They only care about the reaction. The Freudians can deal with the touchy-feely shit.

I would guess that the same principle applies to a great deal of human behavior as well.

Gravity doesn't vary. It's a constant. Human beings vary but they vary within a predictable range. One component of science is predictability. While it's difficult to predict the behavior of an individual, the average behavior of a group of people would fall within a predictable range.

Industrial psychology produces predictable results to improve worker performance.
