It should easily hold together without being soggy.

You could make your sushi with cat food. It has the right consistency, and lots of different flavors. You would still be eating raw fish.

One of my favorite TV lines ever:

Antoine Batiste is a cooked-fish-eating motherfucker!

[The character was offered sushi by Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews.]

Now, of course, Wendell Pierce would have said "birthingpersonfucker" instead,
but it would still be a pretty good defense against ingesting parasites.

Once the New Yankees played their opening day game in Tokyo...'
it was some special lame promotion of some kind...
and half the team got sick from frequenting a really high end sushi bar.

I think that Jason Giambi almost died.

Still, to each his own, right?

It sucks but all American wasabi is horseradish. Hard to get the real deal outside Japan.

Yeah. If I recall, there are three places in the USA that grow wasabi.

You can make wasabi from powder or buy it in a tube...it will be just fine...Kikkoman's makes a yummy wasabi sauce....
This is great to have on hand...

You can also make sushi layered in a pan and just cut it into squares....
    Now I want sushi,,,,

I want to keep it cheap by making it myself.

Sashimi, Maki, Nigiri. Try making them all. Good for you and delicious. If you like those try making some Poke Bowls.
