Do you shop for groceries or your wife? If you, then you know stores are oddly vacant of some items but others are plentiful. There's a national shortage of rental cars. It takes time to crank the economy back up even if our national leaders did everything 100% correct....which they did not. In fact, I think Trump's actions, with Republican support, harmed us worse than doing nothing at all.

FWIW, don't buy any big items now. Put a bandaid on your car, A/C, buying a home, whatever. Wait a year. Like the big Ammo Shortage of 2013, prices will come back down, just not to what they once were. In a year, I expect the economy to be back to normal.

Faster if Congress can get its head out of its collective ass, but still 9-12 months.
Supply shortages with container vessels stuck offshore that can't unload. Merchants can't get enough goods. So demand does you know what...

Exactly. A shortage of workers. This means a shortage of workers to reap or make the stuff, even raw materials, and all the way up the chain to delivering it or managing it.

The thing about low wage workers is that, once laid off, they have a tendency to go find another low wage job. Why go back? Notice that most white collar workers telecommuted to work. Blue-collar workers collected unemployment and suffered.

It works for higher wage workers too. I know airline pilots laid off from the major airlines after 9/11 who were recalled 10 years later. It's a unionized system so they'd be going back as the lowest rung on the seniority ladder. Most, after 10 years, had found other flying jobs with up to 10 years of seniority or work outside flying. The recall rate was about 20% IIRC. Obviously this is dependent upon the type of occupation of the employee.

Yes, target inflation is 2%. That is distant enough from a negative number that we can be safe. Deflation is the worst possible situation, so we need some distance.

Hiring has slowed, while vacancies have remained extremely high, because it is new jobs that are not being refilled. People returning back to work is done quickly, but filling a new position takes months. So we have millions of unfilled jobs, because they are new jobs, and they will take months to fill.

Good luck getting fully into Canada in only two weeks, and that is only if you have good reason for going.

this is not about getting into Canada or Mexico, its about illegals getting in to the USA. Stop the deflection attempts and face the reality that Biden and Harris have destroyed our southern border and thousands are crossing every week bringing drugs, girls to sell, and all kinds of diseases.

Illegals travel through the legitimate border crossings by the truckload. They have tunnels, some huge , going under that wall. They climb over it as has been shown many times. They fly in. They use boats., Exactly, what will Harris showing up at the wall going to do about that? You rightys are so easily distracted by minutiae. Harris has not been to the wall. What would that do? The wall is a pretend fix. It is show. That is all rightys require.

if she saw it in person with the media along side, she and senile Joe could no longer make the false claim that the border is closed. In your post you acknowledged that fact, why won't the biden administration agree with you?

all of the crossings that you listed are happening because the Biden administration decided to stop enforcing our immigration laws. the goal being, as it has always been with the dems, to create a new dem voting block out of illegals. Everyone with half a lick of sense knows that that has always been their goal.

The reference to my IQ is about what I expected.

How many of the past presidents (outside of the current phony) used dominion voting machines ... and a plethora of mail-in ballots ???

the part about shortages and that covid would have impacted the US regardless are correct. The part about Trump screwing up the response was wrong. But if you believe that, tell us what he did wrong and what Hillary or senile Joe would have done differently, and be specific, no BS talking points.

History has already proved you wrong. Trump knew the seriousness of the pandemic in December 2019 but lied about it so he could protect his financial interests.

Any good US leader, regardless of party, would have taken the lead on this, advised the nation everything they knew about the pandemic and, along with leading by example, do everything possible to minimize the negative impact on citizens and the economy. Trump went the opposite direction until he was forced to act by Republicans.
