Default Trump Is Rapidly Losing His Grip on Public Attention

As Trump’s tweets largely drove the news of the day for the better part of four years, he has struggled to find such an effective way to hold the public’s attention since his deplatforming. He launched a blog, “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump,” to communicate with supporters but it was shuttered this week just 29 days after it was first published. It reportedly received very little engagement online.

Meanwhile, clicks to Trump stories plummeted 81 percent from January to February, another 56 percent from February to March and 40 percent from March to April, according to SocialFlow.

The removal of Trump’s blog, a ruling on Trump’s account status by the Facebook Oversight Board, and the GOP drama surrounding Cheney’s ouster from her Republican leadership role all served as recent news events that drove a spike in Trump’s media attention. However, none caused a remarkable surge in attention or a sustained wave of attention, data from SocialFlow show.

The highest rating Trump has reached on SocialFlow’s index in the past three months was a 32 on May 13 — the day after Cheney was removed from her role as House Republican Conference chair over her repeated criticisms of the former president. Trump’s index rating dropped down to a 14 the next day and a six the day after that.

#TRE45ON has always been a media whore, for decades. He knows that out of sight = out of mind. I hope that the media continues to ignore him as the irrelevant has-been that he is. They made him, after all.

The failure of Trump's own blog was significant since the Qless Trump fans can't blame the failure on Tech Lords silencing Trump. Clearly most Americans are over Trump after he attacked the United States Capitol and left his own VP in danger of being lynched.

Please note that it's the public which is ignoring "the MSM" coverage of Trump, not "the MSM" itself.

Media is a business. Their best sellers are Sex, Violence and Controversy. Trump used to be a big seller. It's why Boy Scouts building houses for the poor or Girl Scouts volunteering at retirement facilities aren't shown daily. Most people don't care.

Trump will be back in the news once the trials of the militia leaders and other key Trump supporters begin.

The difference between the MSM and the Toadstool's efforts to remain in the public eye are one is involuntary -- you see what you see when you sit down to watch the news. Trump's crap requires interaction, requires you to go to his site and read his dreck. Looks like not too many were interested in going to the trouble. If he can't manage to whip up some controversy, as you pointed out, he's toast.

I'm not real sure that the media will give much coverage to the fates of the terrorists who attacked our Capitol. The only references to them I've seen recently were here. Most of them will likely plead guilty to lesser offenses and quietly go away.

The media gives the public what they want. If not, then the public switches channels to something they do like. A major cause of division between Americans is self-division by Americans choosing to favor watching only one cable news outlet such as Fox viewers versus MSNBC viewers.

FWIW, I never understood why Trump continually attacked CNN, which used to be slightly left, compared to MSNBC which was far left. Now, there is no doubt that a good portion of CNN is far left; Cuomo, Lemon, daytime news are examples. I still like Smerconish, Zakaria and Stelter, although Stelter seems to be shifting left of moderate.

When the leaders of the Insurrection go on trial, it's a good guess that it will popular viewing.

Agreed most of the Qless will plead out. Once those who already pled are sentenced, if it's preferable over risking a trial, most of the Qless will quickly follow suit.

....and in the minds of the Qless. They're still defending and supporting the fucking moron. LOL

As the plea deals begin to flow and the trials begin next year, I think Trump's star will finally set....sooner if he is hammered for tax crimes.

    For what, exactly?

Did he let loose 5 enemy-of-the-state terrorist leaders in exchange for a traitor? Ones that killed our boys that they had to fight and kill later?!

Did he pardon a domestic terrorist that killed people with explosives?

I'm not buying into your Clown World bullshit.

I can see your stammering from here.

The irony of threads like these always goes right over the top of little libtard heads. Threads are created with multiple people chiming in including a whole lot of libtards how Trump is losing his ability to stay in the public eye.

    Im sorry but...........

    I just LOVE Irony....
