What's amazing is it gets 40 mpg + if you don't put your foot in the accelerator. The light weight, great aerodynamics (Lotus actually wind tunnel tested the design), and small tweaked engine make it very fuel efficient when driven conservatively. The downside to that is the gas gauge is on the passenger side of the car (yes, British weird there) and you rarely look at it. I've run out of gas because of that a few times...
The gas gauge is the one on the far right. You have to ask your passenger for a reading...
