Default 'I will not sit back': In fiery speech, Rep. Liz Cheney calls Trump a 'threat'

Rep. Liz Cheney, the night before her colleagues are expected to vote on whether to remove her from House Republican leadership, ripped into former President Donald Trump and his debunked election fraud claims on the House floor.

"Millions of Americans have been misled by the former president. They hear his words but not the truth," the Wyoming Republican said Tuesday evening in a scathing six-minute speech.

"This is not about policy. This is not about partisanship. This is about our duty as Americans," she said. "Remaining silent and ignoring the lie emboldens the liar. I will not participate in that. I will not sit back and watch in silence, while others lead our party down a path that abandons the rule of law and joins the former president's crusade to undermine our democracy."

We wound up with a Trump presidency because of people like the Cheneys. A natural progression. And she voted with him on issues most of the time.

A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

I'm glad she is standing up for what she believes in. It's outdated, but that's her roots. Cling to the lie that taking care of the rich is a way to take care of the poor. That lie has been refuted and abandoned by most of America, even though it was once the cornerstone of the Republican Party. In it's place, another lie has come to dominate Republican thinking. That lie is named Donald Trump.

The Republican Party has replaced one lie with another. The old lie was easier to take, not so bold or apparent, easier to believe. The new lie is not about substance, but popularity. In the Republican Party, if you can bring in the votes, it doesn't matter if you wheel them in with a pile of empty promises and looming scandals. The votes are all that matters. But alas. Even though Trump could bring in the votes on a lie, it was still a lie that he might be a leader. He wasn't. The pandemic made that evidently and painfully clear. But he can still bring in more votes than any other Republican, and without him the Republican Party is in total disarray. So they have no choice but to stick with him and sadly The Big Lie as he is their only hope. And that makes the party hopeless.

We also waound up with a Trump presidency because of immature, butthurt Bernie Sanders crybabies who stayed home on election day rather than vote for Hillary.

And black voters who stayed home because she isn't black.

Don't blame it all on the Repugnants.

    Well no shit.

    She's a Republican, genius.

You could at least give her props for not going all the way down the Trump sewer with the rest of them.

Trump supported the invasion of Iraq, Trump supported the Libya Intervention, Trump squandered America's moral authority with his war on Yemen, Trump falsely declared North Korea denuclearized, and most importantly Trump publicly confessed to Bob Woodward that he lied his fat ass off for 12 months about the nature and scope of the risk from COVID to this nation.

Whatever flaws Cheney has, Trump has her Trumped by a country mile.

It was "i guess so given what we know" (Trump). Trump only knew the lies of Qadaffi bombing civilians

Hillary and Susan Rice ( domestic policy advisor to Biden) prosecuted regime change, and lied about Viagra Rape
Hillary TO THIS DAY ( Rice as well but she's more circumspect) still support that horrible air war

More importantly TRUMP STARTED NO WARS, and ended Afghanistan

the GOP is an outlaw party. Trump is lucky he lives in a democracy. In Russia, they would have shot him and been done.
