I distinctly recall the night my late husband and I were watching W on TV, shortly after 9/11. Bush announced the creation of the new Homeland Security Dept. It was lightning and storming outside. I told husband: "It's Götterdämmerung -- the twilight of the gods." So yes, it does sound like a Nazi type government office, doesn't it? As for the pandemic, the federal govt. did just about nothing about it until January of this year.
