Trump and his goons actually thought that inspiring a mob of his sycophant minions to storm the Capitol would change the election result. I mean, he STILL thinks he can flip the election that ended six months ago. That's how delusional he and his minions are.
But it is scary to think Trump could've been re-elected if things happened differently. I tend to think that if not for the Coronavirus, Trump would be in the White House today.

Trump poisoned the 2020 election in GA by claiming it was fraudulent. That made his own voters think there is no point in voting. And besides, he wasn't on the ticket for the special Senate election.
Looks like he is going to have the same problem in 2022.
Republicans would desperately like to make the 2022 election a referendum on the in-power party, but Trump continues to hopelessly claim everything is always all about him. That may not be the best way to motivate voters to the polls in an election that he is not in.
