It's interesting how the House Republicans are in such a hurry to throw out Cheney supposedly as McCarthy puts it they want to move on from the last election when in reality it their own Messiah who they take orders from who refuses to let his own Big Lie die

Trump knows better, but he needs the position to stay out of jail. So he will say and do anything to get back in. He only has a bigger insurrection left to get him in. He will end America with no qualms to get the power again. Trumplevania is in his alleged mind.

Trump is never going to jail, I'd even wager he never even goes to trial, literally, as much as I hate to say it, he is above the law, and he knows it

If January 6th proved anything it is that Trump can do just about anything he wants to do, and again, for just about anything he does, an entire political party and major news corporation will defend him till the end

I know. Thank Christ that Trump and his Coked up children and staff are fucking morons. Think about it. Trump and his goons actually thought that inspiring a mob of his sycophant minions to storm the Capitol would change the election result. I mean, he STILL thinks he can flip the election that ended six months ago. That's how delusional he and his minions are.
But it is scary to think Trump could've been re-elected if things happened differently. I tend to think that if not for the Coronavirus, Trump would be in the White House today.

    Aww, tough luck Fat Donald.
Judge Juan M. Merchan wrote that Trump “appears to take the position that his situation and this case are unique and that the pre-trial publicity will never subside. However, this view does not align with reality.”

Trump poisoned the 2020 election in GA by claiming it was fraudulent. That made his own voters think there is no point in voting. And besides, he wasn't on the ticket for the special Senate election.

Looks like he is going to have the same problem in 2022.

Republicans would desperately like to make the 2022 election a referendum on the in-power party, but Trump continues to hopelessly claim everything is always all about him. That may not be the best way to motivate voters to the polls in an election that he is not in.

"… recent polls continue to show that more than two-thirds of Republicans believe that the 2020 presidential election was stolen by Democrats.

Those who believe that are wrong, and cannot produce any credible evidence to back up their belief. Such “evidence” as exists has been in the courts and rejected, all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court, which decided, by 6-3 (with three Republican appointees voting to take the case, and three not to) not to hear the case, allowing the official election result to stand.

That’s old news, but the latest polling, from SSRS for CNN in late April, indicates that – while a huge majority of Democrats, a solid two-thirds majority of independents, and a solid overall majority of Americans believes the Joe Biden’s election victory was legitimate — two-thirds of Republicans either believe or suspect that Trump’s victory was somehow stolen. (And by far the bulk of those, comprising 60% of all Republicans in the sample, took the harder line, saying there is “solid evidence” that the election was stolen from Trump.

    ...

But this was not a particularly close election. Joe Biden beat Donald Trump by 51.3 to 46.9 percent in the national popular vote. And to believe in the “steal” theory, you have to believe that several states, including states where the elections were run by Republican officials, had been stolen for Biden."

Poll: Most Republicans haven’t given up thinking 2020 election was stolen
