    Default "Foxitis," that's pretty good

One of the Capitol invaders defense is that he suffered from "Foxitis;"

"Antonio, his lawyer Joseph Hurley said, had lost his job at the beginning of the pandemic and for the next six months watched Fox News constantly. Antonio developed what his lawyer called "Foxitis" and "Foxmania," and believed the lies about the 2020 election from Fox News and then-President Donald Trump.
"He believed what was being fed to him," Hurley said."

Imagine where your mind would have been after watching six months straight of Fox and Friends, Tucker, Hannity, Laura, and the other lesser demagogues who pepper Fox?

We don't need to imagine, we can just look at any post from any Conservative on JPP.

Now that these Trumpian clowns have to take responsibility for their actions, they're scrambling to find whatever excuse that they can.

Many of them go beyond "Foxitis," in their case, it would be more like "Infowarsitis" or "Breitfartitis" and alike

Amazing how many of them have blamed Trump, but Trump insists he had nothing to do with it.

I know better than to believe Donald Trump.

    He lies.

I can't imagine that such an excuse could carry any weight in a court argument. After all, the claim is that his actions were a result of watching too much Fox News. By the same token, someone else could blame his actions were the result of "being drunk." US Capitol rioter Anthony Antonio made the choice to watch Fox News, just as someone else might make the decision to get drunk and commit criminal acts.

It may be an explanation - but it doesn't excuse one's behavior.

I'm not completely sure that Fox News can create such insanity.

A sane person watches it for five minutes and knows that it's pig manure.
Somebody taken in by it has to be already badly mentally compromised.
