LV must either live in a cave or stays locked in his home all day because here where I live everything is automating. And I live in a fairly small town. Walk into any walmart,....there are only a few checkout lines manned by people , everything has gone self serve. Oh,...and as you are checking yourself out you can watch the automated janitor on wheels drive by as it buffs the floors....LOL . Mcdonalds has really shrunk its staff as well.... Just a couple examples.

There isn't a global electronics shortage. There is a shortage of custom chips and some board stuffing services, due to instability in China and Taiwan.
Chip resistors, capacitors, inductors, and crystals are made mostly in Japan and South Korea. Displays are made mostly in Japan. Stock chips and microprocessors are made in Japan, South Korea, and Mexico.

Taiwan specializes in custom chips and manufacturing. That is where the shortage is. You can blame Biden for failing to defend Taiwan from Chinese expansionism.

I can guarantee there is a shortage beyond custom chips and semiconductors. Circuit boards, raw silicon, copper, etc. All of it has gone up exponentially in pricing (along with every other good and raw material in the known world).

Well, apparently, it's a ticket to wealth to work $15/hr at McDonald's. So I'm not sure why you WOULDN'T do that. It's easier work for not much less money than you're getting now.

My cost for circuit boards really hasn't increased at all. Stock chips still cost the same and are just as available. The price of copper is within normal variations in the market, especially considering the demand for brass. The commodities markets are just not doing what you say they are doing.
