What's to discuss? The FBI prepared a briefing for the criminals involved, in case they weren't aware that they were being played by Putin. The only change to this story is that they opted not to inform the criminals, as it would be a bad idea to jeopardize the investigation.

I'm sure Barr notified all parties that they were under investigation. In the Oval Office, I'm sure.
