april 29 2021 The family of Ashli Babbitt, who was fatally shot while participating in the Jan. 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol, plans to sue the police department and the officer who fired the gun for at least $10 million.

News of the forthcoming lawsuit, first reported by Newsweek, came more than two weeks after the Justice Department said it would not file criminal charges against the officer who killed Babbitt.

Terrell Roberts, an attorney for the Babbitt family, told CNBC on Thursday that it had not been determined when, or in which court, the civil lawsuit against the U.S. Capitol Police would be filed.

The courts will no doubt use a pseudonym to protect the cop since he is black and a BLM activist and the press doesn't want that to come out. But i doubt this goes to trial. There will be a settlement and it won't be much.

Might as well sue the New Delhi Police, they had about as much to do with it all. The actual lawsuit is against the US Capitol Police, and not the DC Police.

She broke into a federal building, and was bashing down a door trying to kill elected officials. Hardly a good look.
