because it was so bad it went a long way toward burying Hollywood movies, too.

The basic test of freedom is perhaps less in what we are free to do than in what we are free not to do. It is the freedom to refrain, withdraw and abstain which makes a totalitarian regime impossible. Eric Hoffer

Gone are the days of Hope, Crosby, and Dorothy LaMour. I'm certain I butchered that last name.
But that was misogyny!

The quality of the Oscar show has absolutely nothing to do with my decision to go to the movies. LOL at the Trumptards. Their widdle feelings are hurt by those meanies in Hollywood like Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Poor babies. That's two threads now about the Oscars. The only people who care are the Trumptards.

LOL what tax dollar subsidies? The tax dollar 'subsidies' offered to motion picture companies almost always come from the state, and they are not 'subsidies', they are intended to attract business to the state. That's not why you are whining and crying for your bottle. You are butthurt because you're jealous of anyone who is richer than you, more good looking, or more successful. Especially if they disagree with you. Sadly for you, that leaves you jealous of about 90% of the population. Cry some more, loser.

To Concart: State or federal subsidies are both tax dollars. Ask the American people to vote for unconstitutional subsidies and see how much they give parasites.
To Concart: Hardly jealous! I and everyone else resent parasites getting rich on tax dollars.

To Concart: Get real. The Constitution enumerates the federal government’s authority. Nowhere does it say tax dollars can subsidize parasites, freaks, degenerates, and U.N.-loving traitors.
Note that state and local government subsidies violate the constitution.
Every bad law that violates the U.S. Constitution is preceded by decades of lies. Well-informed Americans know the lies that were told about the six bad laws I listed. Few Americans realize that all of the worst lies combined do not exceed the biggest lie told about the XVI and the XVII Amendments —— THEY WERE NEVER RATIFIED. THEY WERE IMPLEMENTED AND ENFORCED.
The XVI Amendment: [A tax on income.]

If I remember right, 1988 was not exactly a vintage year. She only won because she was the dwarf’s cousin:
She referred to her 1988 win as “the year of the Dukakii” because it was also the year Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis, her cousin, was the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. At the ceremony, she held her Oscar high over her head and called out: “OK, Michael, let’s go!”
