    You really are an idiot.

That rate would be for cap gains earnings over $1 million.
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Althea. I have a hunch (just a guess really) that your two friends that you are discussing this with, ... WON'T have to worry about any 'Capital Gains Tax'.

first of all don't fret about capital gains taxes, you're not affected

secondly, it's for people making $1M+ per year - and it should be raised to 60% at least

Eisenhower built America's infrastructure with 90% marginal tax rates for the wealthy, way past time to make the elite class pay its taxes

and again ain't talking about you

Opps, forgot one part "for wealthy Americans," must have been an oversight on your part

How many average Americans do you think walk away with a million dollar profit from an investment in one year?

No one is ever forced to sell an asset that has increases in value. One can easily borrow against it's value. If you don't sell it then you owe no capital gains taxes.

Good thing you googled that. Because it goes completely against your original statement. Pipe down asshole. You know nothing about investing.

Actually, it's your statements that scream that you are a broke ass fuck.

Someone that has $1M in earnings doesn't have to sell anything to live on. They can simply move their earnings from one year to the next by deciding when they sell an asset to keep their capital gains under the $1M floor.
